Follow up: Healing Your Nails

In May I wrote about the trouble I was having with my nails and about the Oenobiol supplements for hair & nails I was gifted to try out. I know that some of you were quite curious about if these actually work, and now after having taken them for a while I can fully comment about them. I’m not the best ‘pill taker’ as I constantly forget these kind of daily routines, so I put these in plain sight not to be forgotten. You should take two a day together with something to eat, but you could equally switch over to just one a day after a first intensive month of taking two (in my opinion). I did take these in the morning without having had breakfast yet a couple of times (I’m always in such a morning rush) & did not experience any trouble. I did hear of some girls that couldn’t take it well on an empty stomach, so make sure you eat at least a yoghurt or so when taking them. It takes a few weeks for results to kick in, but believe me: they do kick in! My hair started growing faster & so did my nails. Back in May my nails were very thin & peeled off like crazy, but those problems are almost gone now and I haven’t even finished the three jars from the promo pack (saving it for when it gets worse again!). My nails are much stronger, they’re not completely bendable anymore (such an icky feeling when that happens) and most of my nails (two are still acting up) aren’t peeling off anymore. Of course I would also suggest skipping the nail polish for a while, especially while using the supplements so your nails can concentrate on healing. In the end it’s up to me of course: I need to take proper care of my nails now. Wearing nail polish day in, day out without decent products to treat your cuticles and nails is destined to end in (peeling and breaking) misery.
Blogger colleague Sunny took this other kind of Oenobiol nail supplements (they’re brownish pills) and has commented on her experience as well. If you’re thinking about trying a nail and hair cure through supplements, it might be a good idea to look up some other people’s experiences so you can see how different people react to it.
